If Verizon got a hold of that phone, you know they'd cripple it somehow... I'll switch to Cingular in a heartbeat. Verizon sucks.

This phone will be hot. from viewing the demo and key note video, the user interface I see that (like the ipod) Apple has written a user experience that will be far more intuitive and easy to use. After seeing it work you will say "why would anyone do it any other way" I have a Cingular 8125 and it does most of what the iPhone does (MP3, WiFi, sync with PC, etc) with MS mobile but it's physically thick, the apps are clunky and many icons and buttons are too small. The iPhone says toss away the keypad and the stylus and use thier new touch technology. Cingular's netork is rock solid in my area (Midwest) and they will sell many many of these. Want to know more, check out the demos at apple.

wow that is real expensive. too bad its not comming out for verizon though. what I have heard about cingular and its bad service doesnt make me want to switch to it no matter how cool the phone is. I bet it will be overhyped and not as good as they say it will be. Companies seem to be doing that a lot lately.

Some important questions remain unanswered here. Why no UMTS? Does it have expandable memory via microSD or other? It sure sounds like this phone will be locked to the Cingular network which is devastatingly disappointing. Everything I read prior to the launch suggested that Stevie was not down with the carrier subsidised handset business model and it looks like this phone will not be sub'd by Cingular. Does that mean I can go to an Apple store in June and buy this unlocked and use it on another GSM carrier(T-Mo)? Since the phone will not be subsidesed they have to sell it unlocked right? RIGHT?!?!?!?
