Cingular to get re-branded starting Monday

January 12th, 2007

AT&T LogoNow that AT&T has gained full control over Cingular Wireless, starting Monday January 15th AT&T will start re-branding Cingular back into AT&T. Details are outlined on the AT&T website.

“While the AT&T logo will be prominent in all advertising and communications, the ads will initially include a transitional graphic with both the AT&T and Cingular logos. The co-branded element will help underscore the association of the two companies and transfer Cingular’s strong brand equity to the new AT&T. During the transition, the campaign will integrate popular imagery, phrases and icons from Cingular’s traditional advertising, including the “raising the bar” tag line, the “Jack” character and the color orange.”

Although I can’t say I didn’t see this coming, it ticks me off to some degree. I have spent a bunch of time rebranding old AT&T phones that will now need to be rebranded back to AT&T. Sheesh…

Go luck to RadioShacks in the Phoenix area selling AT&T…when Cingular was still called AT&T Wireless in this area it SUCKED BIGTIME…changing the name to Cingular was very welcome. Now they have to switch back…..hilarious.

I was at att wireless during the phase out of us and into cingular wireless. I am still at Cingular and have to go back to att! The most frustruating thing I think to come for former att consumers who were mad that they had to change their equip since it was going to cingular, now they will see that it is going back to what most wanted the whole time

They keep changing the name and raising the prices and the FTC just keeps letting it happen.
This video seems to explain it well
