Haha I HAVE that phone in the picture. Cingular sucks, they try their darndest to suck every penny out of their customers with their outrageous data rates & ridiculous decisions like these. This is why I'm with Sprint.

NO YOU CAN NOT MAKE A BAG PHONE INTO A GSM PHONE , BUT YOU CAN BUY OR UPGRADE TO A GSM HANDHELD PHONE AND GO TO A ROGERS DEALER AND ALSO PURCHASE A 3 WATT BOOSTER KIT AND HAVE IT MOUNTED IN TO YOUR CAR OR AS I DO PUT THE BOOSTER KIT IN AN OLD BREIFCASE AND MODIFY IT TO PLUG INTO 12 VOLT SOCKET WITH A MAGMOUNT CELL ANT FOR ROOF ETC

I have been using a Moterola bag phone which hasan output of approx 3 watts .I live and travel in the north where the distance to the towers is often large . Can a bag phone be made to GSM to inctease the coverage in fringe areas and decrease the number of towers needed ?

What does Rogers mean when they say that they are the "clearest network" and how do they measure that and with which phone?

Or is it just false marketing buzz??

my two cents.
