Sprint delivers Pandora on mobile handsets

Pandora Sprint

Sprint has just announced they will be the first carrier to launch Pandora on their phones. Pandora allows users to create custom radio stations and save up to a 100 of them.”Pandora is like that one friend who everyone wants to have – someone who really knows and loves music and who can recommend a long list of bands and songs after you mention what you’ve been listening to lately,” said Jeff Luther, director of entertainment wireless data for Sprint. “Pandora is a great way to break out of the same songs on your playlist and hear some new music that you may have never found otherwise. It’s the latest example of the many innovative ways that Sprint delivers music on the one device people carry with them throughout the day.”

Just a note for our Canadian readers, we currently don’t have any access to Pandora as they have block all IP’s outside of the US due to licencing agreements.

Select a song/artist…. ok…. then they don’t play the song or artist you select, but only other’s like it. It’s a licensure thing. And you cannot skip too many songs in one hour.

It stinks, and I don’t like it.

I have a PPC 6700 which is not supported but I bought a Fusic just to get this app. I also own a Video iPod filled with music. Needless to say, I am a Sprint Employee so I get my phones/plans at discounted prices. I am however very pleased with this application as it recommends music that I like that I may not have. Then I just download the music. Get it!
