Wi-Fi enabled BlackBerry gets FCC ok

A new Wi-Fi enabled BlackBerry has been approved by the FCC. The new model which is believed to be the BlackBerry 8820. The BlackBerry 8820 is suppose to feature Quadband GSM, EDGE, Wi-Fi a, b and g. Everything else is basically the same as the current BlackBerry 8800 including microSD memory card slot, Bluetooth, full QWERTY keyboard, trackball and high resolution screen.

Most likely Cingular and Rogers for NA.

Less than three weeks after the iPhone release, RIM drops some serious challenger. While I am an iPhone fan, the 8820’s built-in GPS, 32GB expansion storage, and unrestricted wi-fi is winning me over to this one.
