Introducing the BlackBerry 8820 Wi-Fi Edition

We told you it’d be coming. RIM has just announced the new BlackBerry 8820 featuring Quadband GSM, EDGE and Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g. The BlackBerry 8820 features a microSD/microSDHC memory card slot supporting up to 32GB (high capacity card). Other features include stereo Bluetooth and built in GPS.

It features all the renowned power and usability of the BlackBerry platform with executive class styling and unprecedented connectivity features, including cellular, Wi-Fi and built-in GPS,” said Mike Lazaridis, President and Co-CEO at RIM. “The BlackBerry 8820 complements our carrier partners’ cellular networks with the added ability to stay connected via Wi-Fi at home, through hotspots and corporate campuses.”
