Sony Ericsson K850i pics

I had a chance to play with the SE K850i today. Check them out here.

If you don’t know here are the K850i’s specs:

• 5mp camera w/xenon flash
• second camera for video conferencing
• 240×320, 262k colour display that’s bigger than the w810’s
• HSDPA
• A2DP

It has a display that’s bigger than the w810’s but it’s only slightly bigger (pics of them side by side are in the gallery). They managed to do this by moving the nav pad from above the keypad to inside it. Notice the rectangular shape around the 2 and 5 buttons. To press the soft keys you have to press the screen. It’s an interesting idea but I found I kept hitting 5 when I wanted to go down and I pressed select when I was trying to scroll up.

I also snapped some pics from it but for some reason they were only 2 megapixels in size. Still, they’re pretty good.

The media functions have the same look as the PS3, PSP, some Sony TV’s and some of their AV receiver’s OSD.

It might be coming to Rogers at the end of the year. It will probably have Roger’s lousy music player… I just hope they don’t disable the built in SE one.
