Samsung Gleam Announced on Verizon
October 6th, 2007
Yesterday, October 5, marked the release of the sleek ‘Samsung Gleam’. The Gleam can now be found on the Verizon Website retailing for $149 (with a $40 mail in rebate when purchased online and locked into the two year contract). The phone is V-Cast compatible and has instant messaging as well as picture and text messaging. The built in Bluetooth and the ability to expand the memory up to 4GB (using SD micro cards) makes this a great multimedia phone.

I just got this today. It’s GORgeous. The screen is HUGE and it’s fabulous. The camera is cool – I have to figure out how to adjust the colors, but the 2 MP is a definite plus.
I am getting excellent signal in my house and in my office, both places where I barely got signal before.
My only beef is that the AC/Car adapters plug into the side instead of the end, which is a PITA if you want to hold the phone and have it plugged in. The brainiac that thought that up ought to be fired.
Verizon STILL needs to step it up in the ringtone department (sigh). They’ve removed 90% of the ringtones we used to find in Verizon phones. I’ve had Verizon for years, and every new phone I get has less and less ringtones. This one has 7, 3 of which are beeps.
Granted, I’ve only had it a day, but this phone shows a ton of promise!!!
