Our volume up no longer works unless I put finger breaking pressure on it. Major PIA. I, too, tried to see if there was a way to get in and figure out what the problem is but I think we're just going to have this replaced. Great article on this remote. I have a tech friend that provides this service. For $40 he will take the remote apart, clean and sanitize the keypad and anything else that needs cleaning. You should not attempt to take it apart yourself since the casing is sometimes wired to the inner parts of the remote and may rip or break.
