Samsung CLEO QWERTY flip phone

October 20th, 2008

Here’s the (unfortunately named if you remember Ms Cleo) Samsung Cleo:

  • Bell exclusive
  • CDMA
  • QWERTY keyboard
  • 1.3 megapixel camera
  • microSD card slot (SDHC presumably)
  • launches Nov 7th
  • $49.99 on a 3 year
  • Champagne and Pink at launch with Baby Blue to come later
  • Pink ones will come in a gift set with Cake brand cosmetics and a phone charm.
  • Everyone who purchases a Cleo from Nov 7th thru Jan 15th has a chance to win a day with designer Katya Revenko . The winner will get a custom fitted dress from Katya Revenko, plus travel to and accommodations at the Drake Hotel in Toronto.

It kind of looks like a compact – so I’m a little surprised the inside display doesn’t double as a mirror.

I think the LG Lotus looks better than this one (based on the screen)…though i may get it

It looks like LG Lotus..? does it?

It looks just like Sprint LG Lotus… copy cats!!

Yes, it looks like LG Lotus, but Lotus looks a lot more hip!! This one looks dull.

Why is the screen so small? Look at all that black wasted space! and 1.3 cam on a future product? That’s pathetic – it’s almost as if they are targeting this for teens not for women. The Lotus seems to be a more adult version.

3yr contracts? Verizon is some greedy entity! With phones being improved every 4 mos or so 3yrs on one phone is way too long – even my current 2yr tier is a stretch tho the Alias makes it bearable since it’s an excellent qwerty design.

Make a sequel to the Alias and THEN I will be interested – and get rid of wasted space around the screens – we don’t need Samsung/Verizon written all over the phones- it’s already on the front and etched on the back (of my Alias and every verizon phone).

So it looks pretty nice, my question is, is it a sim phone or not?, if it was i would considered getting one as a back up fo my iphone 3G, altho the iphone needs no back up this is cute and girly, i would love to have one, but wouldn’t consider to move to verizon fo it.

I thought it said “Bell exclusive” that means CDMA…no SIM card.

I hated this phone. had to take it back the next day. not very txt friendly.

It does look like the lotus. But its a great phone. Texting is fun. But can get boring after awhile. No video recorder which really sucks for it to be a awsome phone. Mp3 player though. And since the keys are spread out its easier to text unlike the lg lotus where the keys are right beside eachother…

Amazing phone.. I’ve had it for a week so far… battery life is INCREDIBLE, texting is fast and easy, overall just works really well and it’s adorableeeee.

Does the phone have a sim card slot?

    Lullabelle  |  January 23rd, 2009 at 1:48 am

I have the louts and love love love it! It has a bigger screen inside and out plus it has better features such as video recording, built in music player with controls on the outside, and the speaker phone is the best quality I have experienced on a mobile phone. The keys are easy to text with and comes standard with it’s own memory card. Battery life is much longer than you’d expect. Once you learn how to use one touch you won’t go back.

I really like using this phone and the LG version but the LG lotus also comes in a SIM free version- the LG Reveal where as the cleo only comes without the sim :(

I’m considering getting this phone, it seems like my kind of device… but just one question: i keet hearing contradictory info about whether there’s a camcorder or not. Can this phone take videos or not?? :S

    Harpper  |  May 3rd, 2009 at 12:30 pm

I like it! the 1.3 mega pixel is good because there is a lot more features to the camera like the color tone and a lot of frames also you can have up to 600 contacts and it also a music player and its a great phone i just got it yesterday and i love it its the best you have no idea it sounds weird but its amazing i have the pink one its so cool and who cares if they copied the look of another phone
