Texting Issues-Telus
January 29th, 2009
A few Telus users are reporting problems with Telus’ text messaging service. After composing a SMS and hitting the “SEND” key the message is returned saying “sending failed-retry?”. Sometimes pressing retry once is not enough as it will just come back-if that happens it is suggested to continue trying to send the message until it is marked as sent.
HowardForums member “hani831″ describes the issue:
I get a network problem error, and I have to press resend like 3 times, the problem is sometimes I get this error but the person i’m texting receives the message anyways, and every time I press resend they get a copy. I have no idea whats going on!

Users have also mentioned that incoming text messages are also being affected.
HowardForums user “ob22″ writes: I sent myself a message even from the Koodo site and it has been a half hour and I still havev’t gotten it.
We have been told that Telus is currently is the process switching SMS infrastructure to a new system and should be completed sometime between late April to early May.

yes i have been having the same issue, it is very frusterating, because texts sometimes come through instantaneously and sometimes take an hour, or more! very unreliable.

Koodo is my service provider and my texting services have been absolute crap this past week. Many times I will not get the second half of a message for hours, if I receive the text at all. It is driving me crazy. If I am paying for a texting service, should it not work?
