Is it touchscreen?
live_strong | February 26th, 2009 at 1:24 pm
yes the LG Neon has a 2.4″ exterior touchscreen. sorry should have included this in the original post.
Annie | February 26th, 2009 at 10:11 pm
Its only touch screen when u dial a number
Lily | February 27th, 2009 at 2:55 am
Okay, thanks!
Muyue | February 27th, 2009 at 5:51 pm
LG phone only looks good. However, the quality is really bad. I accidently droped my LG Musique phone to the ground. The LCD is cracked right away. Later I also heard some bad feedback from friends about LG as well. They all use frigle material.
NO LG anymore.

when does it come out

live_strong | March 5th, 2009 at 12:48 pm
Rogers has launched the LG Neon
ken | March 5th, 2009 at 11:43 pm
would you recommend this phone!? do you think its a good choice?
Michelle | March 6th, 2009 at 3:15 pm
I bought this phone recently and it’s been great so far! The screen is great and the feel is really good too (it feels quite sturdy).
If you want an affordable phone but with some nice features, you should definitely consider the LG TE365
Judy | March 6th, 2009 at 9:10 pm
Is the phone supposed to come with a usb cable and a cd?
Jessika | March 6th, 2009 at 9:28 pm
does anyone know how to view the texts without using ” view thread” when I have it on general and try to view a texs msg it takes me to blank white screen…
Anonymous | March 6th, 2009 at 10:14 pm
How much is it if you only buy the phone…NO plan?
--------- | March 7th, 2009 at 12:51 am
The phone is $199 without a contract. Its absolutely terrible though, your better waiting a little bit for a data version to come out. I will admit though, it is a good looking phone and i love the slide-out-keyboard, touch screen combo it has going.
PS-On a three year term you have to take some sort of messaging plan with rogers its the reason I said the phone is terrible otherwise 3.5/4
Anonymous | March 7th, 2009 at 1:27 pm
I actually quite like my LG Neon. I bought it for $199 CA with no contract and it’s been working fabulously.
Judy – The phone doesn’t come with a usb cable or cd
Jessika – To view my text messages, I just go to “Messages” and “Inbox”
Judy | March 7th, 2009 at 6:19 pm
Thanks for the answer, but the user’s guide on-line says to insert the cd provided in your computer?? Not sure why they would say this if there is no cd. Should we google a driver of some sort online for this? and this means we must buy a usb cable seperately?
Boy, got 2 samsungs the same day, and they both came with earphones, cd, usb cable, charger. The whole kit and caboodle!
Anonymous | March 7th, 2009 at 6:54 pm
I LOVE my pink LG neon.. Great camera, great sound for playing songs, and the slide out keyboard is sweet..
Jessica Santos | March 7th, 2009 at 7:48 pm
I bought this phone from Rogers and I got in unlocked since Im with Fido. When the guy from the cellphone store put in the unlock code, it said it was unlocked, and then it restarted. for some reason, after it restarted, it just shows up the screen and it it says TE365. I never loads. I took out the batteries and waited for it to load a couple of times but for some reason it’s still not working. Anyone know what’s wrong with it?
Anonymous | March 8th, 2009 at 2:56 pm
Judy – I haven’t had to use any sort of CD. All the everything I’ve needed was already in the phone. You can probably download firmware updates from the LG website when they start coming out though. As for the usb cable, you’ll have to buy it separately, unfortunately. Hopefully it’s not too expensive
Melissa | March 10th, 2009 at 11:05 pm
i wannna get this phone but i dont know if its a good phone i heard lots of mixed opinons…..dose anyone know if the recption is goood??
i blame rogers | March 11th, 2009 at 12:16 pm
i got the phone from rogers, on a 3yr upgrade. after numerous calling and ‘nagging’ i finally got the deal for just $29.99, (w/out the $35 activation fee etc. every sales gave me a different price. and the most outrageous was ‘$179.99′). anyhow, the phone came by UPS, THE NEXT DAY. i was quite happy with that. but when i opened the box, it was a total disappointment: NO earphones, NNO CD, NO usb cable. i was little confused cuz i thought ‘components missing’. so i called Rogers. again, i got different stories from every agent: 1. no it doesn’t come w/ earphones. 2. it might be that it was left out? let me transfer u to shipping dep. (they told me to ship it back, and reorder). however, the final confirmed story was it only comes w/ phone, battery, charger, and that’s it. i was furious w/ rogers. no earphones, fine. but how could they possibly leave out the usb cable?! htheck am i suppose to transfer mp3, pics, data etc to and from the phone?!
other than this unhappy little incident, the phone itself is not bad. but couple complains that i’ve not seen on some video review on youtube and other places:
1. the back over is rather flimsy, i have a feeling that if i drop it, the battery will probably pop out
2. the speaker phone is terrible (no where comparable to the nokia 5300 i had), sounds very static-ky
3. the voice/vid recording is terrible. the mic pick up is very minimal, and the recorded sound is inconsistent and static-ky.
4. what do u expect from a rogers locked phone?
if you want a media phone, this is not the phone for you. it does come w/ those utilities, but the quality isn’t great. in terms of price and looks and basic functions, esp txt-ing, then this is phone for you.
all in all, i blame rogers. and in a word qouting howard:
getting anything from rogers is like buying a hot dog, except you only get the bun.
thanks for the half-ass phone rogers.
Victor | March 11th, 2009 at 8:09 pm
I got this phone just today when it got mailed in. and i was wondering if it was possible to use the touch screen to text since it does have the option of “abc” and “123″
BILL | March 12th, 2009 at 12:03 am
I bought 2 0f these fancy looking gizmoes, one each for the missus & me. Problem is, other than directions for SIM card & installing & charging battery you are on your own, neither of us is a rocket scientist so it took me 3 days to figure out the basic functions. My wife gave up & insisted I put the SIM card back in her old phone!
Anonymous | March 12th, 2009 at 10:44 am
One of the leaflets should have a website you can go to in order to see the full instruction manual. Hope that helps!
Haley | March 13th, 2009 at 6:09 pm
I got this phone in pink for my birthday… all in all, I like it, except the fact you can’t lock text messages. I ended up losing a very important text that I had locked on my old phone.
Derek Butler | March 13th, 2009 at 8:01 pm
a phone isnt exactly the most secure place to keep an “important” message
metanastis | March 13th, 2009 at 10:50 pm
I got this phone today and I’ve already figured out how to use the functions on it… sure, you need to go through all the features yourself – but honestly how many of you actually sit there and read a bible-long book on how to use a phone? I never have… One needs not be a rocket scientist to figure things out on a phone, just a little time to “mess around” with the various features.
I am however dissapointed in that there is no usb cable for loading up tunes from the PC, but I suppose one can always do that via the mini sd memory card (assuming your PC has a card card reader) which also is not included (because it is optional)
I am also dissapointed at that there were no headphones provided with this phone – not even a carrying case. There was a carrying case for 29.99 at the Rogers store and I asked if I could have it along with the phone – I was told the best they could do is leave it at $15 for me… I declined and got a nice one from Dollarama (surprised at what you can find there).
So, NO usb cable, NO earphones & NO carrying or protective case – for that much I was dissapointed… but the phone itself is pretty neat.
Someone mentioned a CD – what would you need that for? To load the MP3 software? it’s not needed.. you only need the headphones to hear your tunes and to the FM radio
metanastis | March 13th, 2009 at 10:54 pm
does anyone know if there is available a USB converter that connects to your normal headphones input jack to use on this phone? or even just the earphones needed for this phone – the Source? Wireless store? Future Shop ?
Nicole | March 14th, 2009 at 11:09 am
How do I use the mp3 player on this? I guess from reading everyone elses comments I have to go buy a usb cord and headset, but once i do that can i just plug it in and should something come up? or? THANKS A MILLION,…Bye.
Nicole | March 14th, 2009 at 1:00 pm
OK.
All in all, LOVE THE PHONE.
However,
it’s missing EVERYTHING!
My old memory card didn’t work, and it doesn’t come with headphones, case, USB cable, etc.!
WHAT IS THIS?
Does anyone know how I can transfer songs, pictures, etc from my computer to my phone without going to buy the cord?
Nicole | March 14th, 2009 at 3:39 pm
I got a USB cord and put the songs in a folder, but when I put the chip into the phone no songs are on it. what ami doing wrong?!
Metanastis | March 15th, 2009 at 2:36 am
Nicole – if you used a USB to load the tunes in a folder on your phone then you dont need the chip (I’m assuming you are refering to the memory card).
Another way to transfer tunes is to save them on the memory chip and access them from your chip ones it is in the phone – you need to go to applications – then to sounds.. etc..
By-the-way, where did you get the USB, and how muuch did it cost you?
My cousin gave me an idea – instead of purchasing headphones, we can just get the stereo bluetooth – it works like headphones and then when a call comes in you press the button on one of your ear pieces and the mic comes on to take your call… this way you kill 2 birds with 1 stone (so-to-speak).
I’ve been messing around with this phone since I got it the other day, and, except for the stuff that should have been included with the phone but wasnt, I must say I’m quite pleased with it so far….
Just one thing, has anyone noticed it takes a bit long to turn on? I might need to look in my preferences for it….
take care all
alez | March 15th, 2009 at 12:30 pm
I have the same problem of Jessica Santos , nobody have an idea or solution for enter the unlock code on the Rogers LG Neon ?
i blame rogers | March 16th, 2009 at 2:59 am
i was so happy when my phone came by UPS, but was furious when i found that ‘components were missing’.
i’ve the same questions as Metanastis: “By-the-way, where did you get the USB, and how muuch did it cost you?”
i called so many places, best buy, future shop, even rogers’ own stores, they all said they dont’ carry it.
and does anyone know if any other LG’s model’s cables work on this one?
and yes, i do find the same problem as you Metanastis: the phone takes quite a while to turn on.. and sometimes it makes wonder if my phone is frozen, haha~
thanks a bunch!
Rebecca | March 16th, 2009 at 9:54 am
I just got this phone too and I am loving it so far – I am just also wondering if anyone has found out where to buy a compatible USB cord and headset? I noticed on the futureshop website that if you buy the phone from them it comes with both… so no one buy it from Rogers unless you’re getting a great deal! If anyone finds out where to purchase the accessories separately please let us all know! Thanks!
Nicole | March 16th, 2009 at 10:23 am
Ohh, I ended up getting the chip….putting songs into a folder, trying to put it on my phone but the songs dont come up when i go to application and sound!!! but then when i put the chip back in the usb plug and back into the computer the songs come up. BOGUS!! HELP:(
Nicole | March 16th, 2009 at 10:24 am
It was $25 and it came with a few different sized chips and a usb cord to put the chip in from BestBuy!
Nicole | March 16th, 2009 at 10:29 am
P.S I have been trying to get a pink ‘theme/wallpaper’ whatever you want to call it….and everyplace i go, even rogers website nothing is compatible. That goes for a lot of ringtones im trying to find aswell. FUCK THIS PHONE. although i dooooooo like it its pretty
Nicole | March 16th, 2009 at 10:31 am
Nevermind I figured out the MP3 Player.its sick! but screw them for making me have to buy the $25 cell phone kit. Its from BestBuy as i was saying, and it comes with bigger chips..and then a little chip that can fit into the LG TE365 and yeah its pretty simple to use. Im not sure the make of it because I had someone go pick it up for me but I would for sure try again there if you did want to pursue the whole mp3 on your mobile thang….
A-S | March 16th, 2009 at 12:27 pm
The jack is the same as the LG chocolate or LG rumor, so the accessories compatible with those phones should work with the Neon.
Question : Is there some way to use the touchscreen for other things than dialing? ie : navigate the menu.
Metanastis | March 16th, 2009 at 9:20 pm
The touchscreen is for dialing only… Alez, by wanting to unlock your phone I am guessing you want to use it with a different copmany other than rogers.. cool.. I had my previous phone unlocked at one of those kiosks at the mall for $35 (takes about an hour) so that I can use it in Europe – I purchased a SIM card with air time and a local number and didnt have to pay the long distance and roaming charges to rogers… so if you want to unlock your phone you can try that kiosk.
As far as accessories go, I found some at the Booth store in the mall – if you dont have this store near you, try any other store that carries all brands of cell phones and accessories. Anyhow, at the Booth they had the mini memory cards for $19.99 – also they had the earphone/mic for handsfree also for $19.99 and a pretty good assortment of Roots carrying cases for $24.99. Also, they have this stereo bluetooth headset for $150 (i mentioned this before) by Motorla … you can listen to your MP3s or FM tuner and take calls when the phone rings. The guy at the store told me that the blue tooth infact save on the battery life of the phone since it needs not be on constantly .. definately check it out – again it sucks that we have to pay for these ourselves when they should have been included.. but at this point, it is what it is.
Rebecca | March 17th, 2009 at 6:49 am
Thanks everyone, I bought a headset adapter from someone on kijiji for $10 – it was for their LG chocolate, so that’s a good bit of info, compatible accessories! Also, I agree with all of the screw Rogers comments, they’re awful to deal with!
lucas | March 17th, 2009 at 12:41 pm
Hello,
I recently bought the LG TE365. Like it a lot, the only thing is that I put my SD card in it but when I try to access the songs that are on it, the phones gives me a message saying “Bad Format Error” Does anyone know how to fix this problem???
Thanks a million.
Sarah | March 17th, 2009 at 5:29 pm
I just bought this phone today and when I went to read the user manual is wasn’t there! I’m kinda confused on how to use this phone.
Is there anyway I can change the text to T9!?
Metanastis | March 17th, 2009 at 6:09 pm
Lucas… like any new memory card, the first thing you do before using it is you have to format it… just like the ones for the digital cameras – let us know if the problem continues afterward as well
Sarah, we all agree that Rogers screwd us up a bit with the accessories for these phones.. but trust me when I say that Bell is much worse to deal with – Much worse! Still, the phone itself is not all that difficult to figure out – all you need to do is invest a little time and search through the menu items and try them out. Eeverything makes general sense. For example if you want to change you date settings or your display settings, or the language settings, etc… you would look in your SETTINGS. If you want to use the voice recorder or the alarm, or use the calender, since these are tools, you would look in TOOLS. Also the main page has a SHORTCUT button (the one on the right) and from there you can access some of the main functions of the phone also.
You can also set your 4 arrow buttons to have specific shortcats that you use more often. Try this: go to your Settings, then Display – in there go to Shortcuts. In here you can set up your 4 arrow keys to be your shortcut keys. For example, on my phone I made my right key bring up my Profile choices (so i can switch to silent, or vibrate.. etc.. ) My down key brings up the Calender, so I can check out the entire month.. and scroll to the next month or whenever to set up notes and alarms for meetings, etc.. My left arrow key I have bring up all my recent calls for easy refernce .. my up key opens up my contacts for when i want to call somebody .
This is just as an example.. you can make your keys bring up whateve shortcut you want.. Camera, FM tuner, calculator.. whatever you want…
As far as looking up the User Manual online for this phone, i also came to a dead end. I was talking to a techie at an electronics store and he was telling me that LG rushed to put the phone on the market in order to beat another competitors phone… (the big race) and that’s why they “forgot” to add these other “essentials” along.
Like I said, Bell is alot worse then rogers in their customer service, and as far as the phone goes, it is a really good phone – so just invest a little bit of time to explore the various features (I’m sure it takes as just as much time to read a whole manual too, something I’ve seldom done)
So, Rebecca.. are you saying the headset adaptor for the LG Chocolate works on the TE365 ? This is good to know – the TE365 may likely be the replacement to the Chocolate.. thanks for the info.
have fun everyone
lucas | March 17th, 2009 at 6:13 pm
Metanastis, Thank you very much for the advise. I just dont know how to format the card, i had it on a blackberry before and it was working properly but now this phone doesnt give me an option to format it so i dont know how to do it. I will apreciate any advise on how to format the card to my phone.
Again, Thanks a lot.
Annie | March 17th, 2009 at 7:13 pm
This is a question for people who have this phone in PINK.
Does it still have that ugly navy-ish blue front like on the demo?
On the demo one’s, the GREY version has a black front and the pink has a blue ish.
Are they the same?
I ordered this phone from rogers LAST WEEK and they forgot to ship it to me. So now they are out of stock and i cant get one till they get a stock!
Im soooo pissed!
live_strong | March 17th, 2009 at 11:15 pm
the phone has a full qwerty keyboard-why would you want to use T9?
Larry | March 18th, 2009 at 12:23 am
Annie
I bought a pink one for my wife from Futureshop today. The front doesn’t look blueish to me. It looks almost the same as the grey version.
I also bought a 4g Micro SD card for $19.99. put 231 songs on it. The mp3 player works well for me. I’ll use my card reader to transfer files instead of a USB cable.
I found the user manual without any difficulty on the http://www.lg.ca. Just click on ‘Support’ and search for ‘te365′.
I agree the phone takes longer to power up. Doesn’t bother me.
I find the touch screen too sensitive for me.
Good phone for the price. If you have a corporate plan+3-yr contract, then the phone is free.
Metanastis | March 18th, 2009 at 7:35 am
Larry – thanks for the info.. I got the corporate plan 3 year contract too – so I got mine for free….
I was talkin to a techie friend of mine again about the phone and mentioned that it take s a while to power up, and he explained that most new phones are like that now becuase there is so much more to load up – just like the websites (the simple ones load faster than the heavy duty complex graphic sites)
I wasnt sure what Sarah was refering to with the T9.. not sure what that is…
One other thing that I dont like about this phone (but I can live without it) is that there is no screensaver. Other phones, like my previous one did, show the time or time and date as a screensaver, whereas this one just goes blank – it looks as if it is shut off and you need to press a button to light it up and see the time… this isnt a big thing, but it was practicle when I had it on my last phone.. especially at work where I dont where a watch.(I would have the phone propped up at my work bench)
I’ve played around with this phone quite extensively and learned most of the feratures.. but this (the time as a screensaver) is something I cant find – so if somebody has figured out how to turn that on (if the feature exists) I would like to know please
take care
Metanastis | March 18th, 2009 at 8:09 am
OK – for those who are trying to get the manual from the LG site: when you type in the model, type it without the space (te365). I was typing it in with the space and that was why it could not find a manual for it.
Lucas – when you get the manual, check out page 18 and it explains how to format your memory card.
As far as blaming Rogers for the lack of accessories goes… I talked to a few different people at rogers about it – I called *611, and also 2 rogers stores – and basically the fault lies with LG and not with Rogers. LG wants to focus on making a good quality product and then lets you worry about the accessories.. yeah, whatever.
I browsed through the manual and found nothing about a screensaver – so I got an answer to my own question…
ciao
lucas | March 18th, 2009 at 4:41 pm
Metanastis,
I really apreciate your help. I will check out the manual.
Thanks a lot
Lily | March 18th, 2009 at 10:39 pm
Does anyone know if it’s going to be available at Fido in the near future? Or is it just at Rogers?
rebecca | March 19th, 2009 at 11:35 am
i have no idea what the correct name for this is, but i’m trying to enable a function in text messaging where it completes the words for you. i can’t seem to find it in message settings, is it not an option on this phone?
Metanastis | March 19th, 2009 at 6:31 pm
Rebecca – unfortunately this phone does not have the ‘advance type’ feature you wanted… it has the keyboard so you can type the way you would on your PC.
So the first word after a period (.) will appear in upper case and continue in lower. If you want all capitals, then press the up arrow key at the bottum left corner (once will give you 1 upper and then go back to lower case – twice it stays on upper case – it actually shows you what mode you’re in at the top right on your screen under the time and character count).
Now if you want to type numbers into your messsage or use the comma or period or exclamation mark, etc.. use the orange Fn key on the bottom left of the keyboard (again once for 1 time – twice to lock in – look at your top right to see what you have on)
If you have downloaded the manual the information is on page 23 (but you have to try it to understand it)
You can get the manual at http://www.lg.ca. – just type in the phone model but dont use a space (te365)
hope this helps you
Metanastis | March 19th, 2009 at 6:37 pm
I was at the Source (formerly known as Radio Shack.. haha) and I found a 4GB Mini SD card with its adapter on sale for $14.99… its not a SanDisk but I dont see how it wouldnt be a good enough card. The only thing is Nowhere in the manual did I find if this phone can actualy work with a HC (high capaity) memory card or not… Larry, I think you mentioned you got a 4GB card? have any problems using it ?
thanks
Rich | March 20th, 2009 at 2:55 pm
Has anyone been able to find software for the TE365? I’m assuming it doesn’t exist since I can’t find it on LG’s site.
Vance | March 20th, 2009 at 6:09 pm
Has anyone played video on there te365? What format must it be in? No problems with mp3 or jpeg.

I have gone to the lg website and clicked on the manual link on the te365 page and nothing comes up. Can someone send the actual link to the manual?
I have inserted a mini SD card with ringtones and photos downloaded from my PC and when I click on sounds or images on my phone it shows nothing being on the external memory. Anyone know why?
pinkprincess | March 20th, 2009 at 9:45 pm
OK, found the user guide…but not on the LG site, hope the link works…
I also looked for the compatible items on BestBuy.ca and didn’t find anything but the phone, any other suggestions?
remy | March 20th, 2009 at 10:35 pm
hi i just got this phone today and i’m loving it. my one question is, how do you make an mp3 a ringtone? It says “only DRM file available” and frankly, i don’t know what that means…
Mykole | March 21st, 2009 at 6:03 pm
i just picked up this phone yesterday, and i like it alot. However, i am having great difficulty in sending mp3 files via bluetooth,…the transfer fails and it says “Not enough storage is available to complete this operation.”
i dont have a memory card in the device, but when i check my free space it says i have 13932KB of free space, and a song is only about 4mb, so that doesnt make sense. please help.
other than this little problem… i love this phone.
Laura | March 21st, 2009 at 10:22 pm
LG Neon is available at FIDO. I got mine today from them.
Amy | March 21st, 2009 at 10:38 pm
@ Remy: DRM are protected files that are only avaliable if you purchase the ringtone. The only way to stop this is to unlock your phone.
@Mykole: The form is always in KB 4 mb is around 4000 kb.
Mary | March 21st, 2009 at 11:46 pm
I love my phone besides the fact that I can’t lock text messages. Every time i try to save a message it sends it to media then documents and it shows up on this white backround? its the weirdest thing. Does anybody know how i can save my text messages? I have important ones that i want to keep but im not sure how!!
Mykole | March 22nd, 2009 at 12:55 pm
@ Amy…. whats the point in telling me that, I obviously know that. If a song is 4000kb, and i have 13932kb of free space i should be able to get a few songs.
so the problem still stands.
Why does it say there is no room if it shows that there is that much free space.? please help.
Sandra | March 23rd, 2009 at 12:30 pm
Hi,
I bought my LG Neon yesterday and I realized that there is some accessories missing. I red all your posts and if I understand.
1. For the memory card I can find one at la Source that is compatible with the Neon????
2. I can buy the earphones frond the Chocolate phone?
I tried to put my old memory Card sandisk and it says there is no file:S
help please
Chris T | March 23rd, 2009 at 3:44 pm
I just got this phone for $70 CAN so I thought it was a great deal however I’m with Fido and the phone is Rogers, so I need to get it unlocked anyone know where I can go and at a good price? I live in Toronto and drive
Thanks

Chris- most malls have little island kiosks that sell phone accessories and stuff.. some of them will unlock your phone for about $40.. I have unlocked my previous phone in Hamilton (eastgate square near the food court) I’m sure there are similar stands in the Toronto malls..
Sandra… you understood correctly – as far as your info on your memory card: if the info was from a previous phone, it could be that the files are stored differently than on this phone (example different resolution for pics, qualtiy of ringtone, etc…) or that these files are copywrited
Also, as far as copywritten ringtones and songs and stuff… I am guessing the phones are rigged to recognise such files and unless you download them directly onto the phone, it wont let you transfer from another – even if you do have it on a memory card.. its the inofrmation that comes along that the phone picks up and it knows if it made the download/purchase itself or not… monopolizing makes the monpolizers very smart (unfortunately) Therefore, unlocking a phone will lilkely not allow you donwload and exchnge ringtones and tunes, since, like I said it’s these files that are tagged. The only benefit to unlocking a phone really is that you then can use that phone with ANY provider… not just the one you got it from. Last year I unlocked my phone and took it to Europe… I then replaced my Rogers SIM card with a local one – this allowed me to have a local number and airtime for my duration of my stay (and it was way cheaper) – and when I came home I had no long distance or roaming calls on my bill… as if I never used it at all!! Thats basically the only benefit in unlocking your phone, is if you do something like that…
take care everyone – enjoy your phones -
Chris T | March 24th, 2009 at 12:05 pm
I unlocked my phone yesturday all by myself on the internet…it took a long time to find but it was easy it took 10 seconds and it gives you the pin number…. you type it in 10 times and boom it’s unlocked. People who are trying to unlock their phones go on the interenet first (all the co.uk) pages are great. Save your money. Thanks Metanastis for your help!
nicole | March 24th, 2009 at 12:48 pm
is there a way to turn off those annoying little sounds when you press a button without putting it on silent?
I still wanna hear my ringtone ._.
Polly | March 24th, 2009 at 6:47 pm
If you unlock this phone will it let you use your own ringtones and not the DRM ones?
TE365 User | March 24th, 2009 at 7:28 pm
hey, i am trying to send a music file via bluetooth, but the phone says “failed” and the computer says “Not enough storage is available to complete this operation.” the phone hold 14 MB and its empty right now…any ideas of why the phone keeps failing?
Dianne | March 24th, 2009 at 8:43 pm
Chris, can you please tell me what website you used to unlock your phone? What can you do with your phone now that you could do before?
Polly | March 24th, 2009 at 8:59 pm
Chris PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEEASE post the website you used to unlock your phone!!
Now that it’s unlocked, can you use MP3′s as ringtones?
Please reply!
Polly | March 24th, 2009 at 10:31 pm
so has anyone figured how to use custom ringtones yet?
Metanastis | March 24th, 2009 at 11:59 pm
NICOLE – you can change the tone of your buttons and of the slide in/out in your prefernces: go to SETTINGS, then go into PROFILES, then go to GENERAL, and then to PERSONALIZE. In there you will find all your tones and volumes for each. What you were asking about would be #7 (Touch & key feedback).. You can also change the sound the phone makes when you slider is opened or closed at #8 (Slide tones). #10 is the sound it makes when you turn on and off the phone and #11 how loud you want it to be.. when you’re all done there go BACK to the GENERAL page and choose ACTIVATE…
CHRIS.. the code you were given to unlock your phone.. was it from a reputable source / website, or is it from somebody who is going to be hacking your phone and racking up a huge phone bill every month while you scratch your head wondering when you made all those calls? Not trying to be a smartass, I’m genuinly curious becuase I found some pages that will do that for $20 (over the net (a plcae in Montreal).. also I’ve heard some horror stories like that from a few people… Its the last thing I need to worry about these days…
TE365USER.. it could be that the song might be too big a file for the Bluetooth to make the transfer – just becuase the phone has the room to hold the song, doesnt mean that the Bluetooth can support it…. it’s just a thought
any new info is always appreciated
ciao

Can I use iPod headphone’s with this phone??
nicole | March 25th, 2009 at 12:13 am
thanks Metanastis!
now if you unlock it will it let you use mp3′s as ringtones without having that DRM thingy?
TE365 User | March 25th, 2009 at 12:50 pm
@Metanastis – well the problem is that there is enough room on the phone over… 10 mb or 10000kb free… and i have tried sending songs as small as 1 mb, but it still fails… i am able to send files that are 120 kbs or less but nothing larger then this….
Chris T | March 25th, 2009 at 3:00 pm
Dianna- Well I got my phone from a friend of mine so it was already locked. The site where I unlocked my phone was a co.uk site , if you type it up in google you’ll see the end address I don’t know what the site was….sorry! If I find the code I will give it to you.
Polly- Sorry like I said I don’t know the site and I bought my phone locked!
Metanstis- No no it’s a good site I have used them b4, all you do is punch in the code a couple of times, that’s all. About the one on the internet $20 thing I’m not sure of that.
Neon Fire | March 25th, 2009 at 6:42 pm
if u unlock ur phone will it let u use ur OWN ringtones?
tina well | March 25th, 2009 at 8:53 pm
why doesn’t mine go to a complete silent mode? you can still hear the vibration even through the sound is off. how do u get rid of the vibration on this phone?
Metanastis | March 26th, 2009 at 12:38 am
Tina – if it doesnt ring, and if it doesnt vibrate.. well, in that case you might as well just turn the phone off since you wont know that you’re getting a call anyway… but I’m sure you can turn everything off (there is a profile setting for that)
TE365User – I think u kinda answered your own question.. by reafirming my initial explanation: your bluetooth probably can only handle files upto and not exceeding 120 kbs – like you just mentioned.
ChrisT.. you would be of great help if you got the actual website for us (you should know it since you’ve used it b4)… telling us that it ends in co.uk is like telling us it ends with .com or .ca – no real help there – Again, I dont wana sound like a wise-ass.. but it is what it is
Nicole – unlocking your phone only frees you from whatever company you got the phone from. If you got it from Rogers, unlocking it will allow you now to use it with Telus, or Vodafon in Italy, or Virizon in the US.. etc… You are no longer bound to Rogers.. (or whoever you are unlocking the phone from). The rest of it remains the same… if the file you want to open is locked (mp3, video, ringtone, etc…) then you will have the same problem. If the the file is unlocked (that means without copywrite protection) then you can do whatever you want with it. As far as using MP3s as ringtones,it has nothing to do with locked or unlocked or copywritten files.. that all depends on whether the phone has that feature or not.. I dont think this one does.
NeonFire…. hope that touches on yor question also… but then again what do you mean by your “own” ringtones? Some phones you can record something using the voice recordeer feature and then use that as a personalized ringtone.. but this phone doesnt do that… Like I mentioned in the last paragraph, if the ringtone has copywrite, then you cannot transfer it from one phone to another phone – even if you purchased it legitimately. I have a ringtone and a game on my previous phone that I purchased from Rogers – and now that I’ve upgraded my phone, I’m not allowed to transfer them.. even though I bought them and they are going on my own phone…. apparantly the phone doesnt know that its the same owner.. haha
anyway, hope I’ve been of some help… if worse comes to worse and you’re realy realy stumped, ask somebody at GeekSquad (the Best Buy techies)
Take care all

i put songs onto the sd card and it works when i put it into the computer but it won’t play any songs while in the phone. what do i to get it to work???
Bhula | March 26th, 2009 at 10:59 pm
The problem is with DRM..NeonFire’s point was I think if you unlock your phone can you use your own mp3′s that don’t have DRM embedded in them because as it sits right now the only music you can use is DRM (digital rights management) embedded.
Thiago | March 27th, 2009 at 1:13 am
I think all of your comments have changed my mind about purchasing this phone. I currently have the Iphone and thought that this would be a good phone for me because it still has great features and I can pay less than the iphone. But after hearing some of the problems you all have been having..I’m starting to think twice..I love uploading my own MP3 ring tones to my cell phone..
So i’m guessing I have the same question that most of you have in here..IS there ANY way shape or form for one to upload their own MP3 ring tones? Rather it be by unlocking your phone…buying the USB, or using a memory card..? any one know ?
JJ BuRnSSS | March 27th, 2009 at 3:00 am

Hi, I was wondering if anyone of you found the earphones that goes with this phone. I went to FIDO and ROGERS and they told me that they didnt received it yet. But, I also heard that the earphones from the LG chocolat can work with the NEON. Did anyone tried? I dont wanna buy them if I’m not sure they ll fit.
Thanks for your help
Bhula | March 27th, 2009 at 11:06 am
This phone is very simple to load your own music and pictures via the micro SD card slot then use the copy or move feature to move them to your phone, the only thing that pisses me of is the DRM ringtone because it will play non DRM music in the mp3 player but will not let you use them as ring tones and so far no one has said for sure if you unlock it that will change!!
Trang | March 27th, 2009 at 3:27 pm
As far as i know after asking some unlock cellphone websites, unlocking phone only gives you the ability to change to other networks, it doesn’t change the way of setting ringtones. In other words, if you unlock the phone, switch from Rogers to Telus, then it will still ask you for DRM files so that you can actually use your own ringtones!. I think this annoying thingy is not due to Rogers but LG company. They set up the phone in such way before they give it to Rogers.
Bhula | March 27th, 2009 at 6:47 pm
No it’s Rogers – Fido because you can by music from ITunes..Rhapsody etc. they don’t have DRM anymore, which means that you can’t use the music you just paid for…I say we start a class action law suite because if they get away with that on this phone then they will start to do it on all phones so that you will have to pay them for your ring tonnes
Dianne | March 27th, 2009 at 7:37 pm
My son got a usb data cable and headphones with his LG shine. They both work with my LG neon. But when I use usb data cable in my PC it gives me an error. I can’t find drivers for it. Called LG and Rogers, they don’t have drivers for it either. Lg says my PC should automactically recognize it. It doesn’t
FireGryph | March 27th, 2009 at 9:38 pm
Ive had this phone a couple weeks now, from Rogers, and things keep piling up to irritate me further. But I hold out for the hope that some software/firmware updates will come to fix these issues…
First, the DRM file use only for ringtones ticked me off.
Then the fact that I cant even manage to put a single MP3 file on it thanks to the lack of internal memory or whatever.
Then I found out that using the MSN program I can only see 30 of my contacts at most. I have over 100 contacts in MSN, but on the phone I can only see 30.
The keyboard seems a little slow to react, as well, and I find that instead of typing O, K, L or M, half the time it scrolls up, down, left, or right.
Then the complete lack of support from LG or Rogers, the lack of drivers/software. And how it entirely fails to connect with my computer using bluetooth and LG PC Suite.
Trang | March 28th, 2009 at 12:00 am
to Bhula: i still can set the music as ringtones that i downloaded from other websites, the one I use is ventones.com. After i download the file using internet on my phone, i noticed the file has an extension like this, for example maria.mp3.drm. And i don’t think this website has sth to do with Rogers.
FireGryph, i’m looking for LG PC Suite. Can you tell me the source to download it? Thanks.
Bhula | March 28th, 2009 at 12:28 am
Trang I have it it dosen’t make a difference, but as for the ring tonnes this is what I am saying Rogers – Fido want you to buy them from thier site only it has nothing to do with LG other wise you would not be able to play non DRM music on this phone.
FireGryph | March 28th, 2009 at 2:49 pm
Trang: I got it from a bittorrent site
Oh, still waiting to hear if unlocking the phone will allow use of non-DRM files to be used as ringtones
Ron | March 28th, 2009 at 4:55 pm
Bought this phone from a friend about a week ago, – better than my crappy half broken sony ericsson W580i – or so I thought
I am very disappointed though with the fact that it didnt come with the earphones or a USB cable. Got even more mad that my provider rogers doesn’t sell them.
I noticed that people also have an issue with the ringtones on this phone. Yes you need to buy them, No you cant make your own MP3′s because they need to be DRM. You also can’t use recordings from the phone as ringtones.
With my old phone I just used sony ericsson’s DRM packager to convert MP3′s to protected DRM’s but it doesn’t work with this phone because it doesn’t recognize the “DM” extension. I tried everything and i’m pretty sure that the only thing you can do is unlock it and hope for best.
If anyone knows of any DRM software that can make it work please tell me
PurpleCRAYONS | March 28th, 2009 at 10:45 pm
If i compare this phone to my old phone, which was a Sony Ericsson w580i (grey), i’d chose that.
The voice recorder was WAY better and clearer on that, the camera was sharper, it had a step counter, walkman, Music DJ (let you make your own ringtones with beats from the phone), Video DJ, tons of custom themes… THE LIST GOES ON AND ON.
This phones voice recorder is REALLY muffled. i’ve noticed the camera isnt ‘that’ great. When im texting on this phone, it’s really slow cause i text pretty fast. When i slide the phone open when i recieve a message, its a tad slow.
OVERALL, i prefer my w580i for the camera, voice recorder, ringtones etc..
BUT this phone is FABULOUS for texting!
So if you’re a heavy texter get this phone !

Is there a way to change the home screen shortcut keys – my daughters has “EMAIL” and “SHORTCUT” wondering if we can change the “EMAIL”
thank you
K
Chris T | March 30th, 2009 at 12:28 pm
I totally agree with PurpleCrayon this phone is ONLY good for text messaging. If you text a lot then yes go with this phone. If you don’t then this phone is just like any other phone out there. Get one that suits your needs.
KAREN- the way I changed my “email” home page by going to a store that unlock phones and ask them to flash your phone it should cost you $20 and take 5 mins to do……either then that no, when I asked Rogers to do it for me they said they don’t do that stuff….can you believe it!! Very bad customer service at Rogers!
Patrick | March 30th, 2009 at 1:01 pm
Dianne, I’ve done the same thing with a US cable i bought from ebay which is working with the Lg Neon TE365 (europe model is the ks360). And the driver doesn’t work neither LG or Rogers have the driver yet, which is totally stipid. Rogers change the application and cause the cause to failed at the isnall, it’s not LG fault
…sad
So for everyone if you wanan buy something check ebay and dealextreme.com for KS360 accessories.

I have a question about the memory card. I have two memory cards that are from a black berry, and one that is brand new. I looked EVERYWHERE for how to get songs on my phone. People are telling me “oh, just format it.” The only issue is, nobody’s telling me how to format it! Then they tell me to read page 18. I lost the booklet! So, can somebody please walk me through the steps on how to format my memory card? I want to put songs on it.
Thanks alot!

fido is worse than bell. I called fido to confirm whether or not it’d come with a headset and all their reps said it would (after checking w/ their higher-ups). But when i got the box, nothing…. O_O;when I called again, they said it was their mistake.. liars… I hate dealing with stupid people. they can’t get their story straight. Now I’ve got a pretty good phone that i can’t even use for mp3/fm/handsfree T_T It was also supposed to come with an accessory set but they ran out so now I don’t even have that. when you call fido stores .. they barely, barely ever answer.
Is there a store in Vancouver, BC that sells the headset? or a reliable source online?
Oh yeah, it’s kinda annoying how they didn’t give you the full manual too. the quick guide only does so much – . -”
Patrick | March 31st, 2009 at 12:07 am
Seven, you can get the manual here:
http://ca.lge.com/fr/products/model/detail/rogerswireless_lgte365neon.jhtml (in the right menu there manual stuff)
To format a MicroSD card if you can read it from your computer you can go in the windows explorator, right click on your card and select format. if the card is new it’s supose to be formated and putting it in the phone will created the default phone directory which contain a song directory where you can put your mp3.
There ya go
Yume:
For usb cable etc. check for KS360 model on ebay there is some cable available and working, BUT the connection on windows won’t work cause of the driver… maybe there will be a patch in a couple of..months!

Ive gone to the website, but the online chat appears to be offline and i searched the whole website for the memory card info. Could SOMEONE just please tell me step by step how to format my memory card. Is their anyway to format it without using my computer, it’s fine if I have to use it.
Thanks.
bluecat | March 31st, 2009 at 8:48 pm
Seven – Patrick posted the link to the manual above, you may have missed it. You can download the pdf there.
But anyway, here are the instructions on how to format your card::
1. Go to “Settings” > “Memory Status” > “External Memory” > “Format”
2. The password is “0000″… type that in
3. Your card should now be formatted and ready to be use!

I found a place that sells LG Chocolate headphone adapters:
http://www.javoedge.com/reflexeshop/productCatalog/getProduct.do?poid=1589&pbmId=13153
Does anyone know if this will work with the TE365 phone?
So far the phone works great, though I have 2 complaints:
1. I’m starting to get annoyed at the fact that I cannot find LG headphone adapters (or even headphones) at any store I went to (Rogers, Futureshop, Wireless Wave)… they tell me to check other stores, but the problem is – they referred me to you!
2. The fact that I cannot use customized mp3 ringtones bugs me even more!
Cedric | March 31st, 2009 at 10:10 pm
Hi every one. I’m feeling in a crappy mood right now, cauz of my new cellphone, LG TE365.
First of all, for the people that would maybe think of buying this cellphone, well stop thinking right now! This cellphone has NO USB cable, no drivers, no memory, etc. So i had to go buy a 4GB memoery card (micro SD) for 20 $, and a USB cable and a CD driver. I had a lot of problems very similar to Diane’s one (computer not recognizing the drivers) so what i did is : i bought a special USB key that can transfer directly data from your USB to your micro SD card. This works very very well, but you have to buy it and spend another 5-10$.
The thing that tickles me the more about this cellphone is the DRM crap. I’m still trying to figure out how to converse a normal .mp3 to a DRM extension. If i find something I’ll inform you guys.
So for the customers that want to buy this cellphone, well don’t, unless you’re a huge texter.
Seven | March 31st, 2009 at 10:15 pm
Well, I did that and when i enter my pin, it said Complete. Then it ask me if I want to format it again, Ive done this step 10 times but the option wont go away. And when I try to add songs, it says memory full.
Ugh, this is frustrating me.
Cedric | March 31st, 2009 at 10:37 pm
Hey it’s me again guys
. I did some research on the net, and maybe i found a way to get some DRM files but im not quite sure. I need some information about a program called : Tunebite. If someone can tell me if this program converts unprotected files to DRM and where i can get it for free (i have torrents), then i might be able to convert files. So if anyone has that information E-mail me or please leave a comment
thanks.
Seven | March 31st, 2009 at 11:08 pm
Oh, sorry guys. I found the solution to my program. I just needed to upload the memory chip to my computer.
Sorry for the hassle. And thanks for the help!
Trang | April 1st, 2009 at 12:00 am
hey Cedric, Tunebite is used to remove DRM , but what we want is make files become DRM. I have the driver for this one, it works well but worth nothing since even the phone connects to PC by using LG PC suite, it just shows me 3 options to manage: messages, contacts and calendar. There are no such ringtones or media thing for me to manipulate.
FireGryph | April 1st, 2009 at 3:06 am
Trang: where did you get the drivers for this? Im still at a loss in that regard. For some silly reason I can transfer files TO the phone via bluetooth, but cant transfer anything off, like pictures Ive taken.
bluecat | April 1st, 2009 at 4:26 am
I just found this… the Sony Ericsson DRM packager allows you to protect your mp3s so that you can use them as ringtones:
http://mac.softpedia.com/get/Communications/Sony-Ericsson-DRM-Packager.shtml
…if anyone has figured out how to use this program to successfully upload an mp3 onto this phone AND use it as a ringtone, please let us know!
Thanks!
bluecat | April 1st, 2009 at 4:30 am
Oops please ignore my previous post, I think that’s ONLY for Sony Ericsson phones.
My bad. (o=__=o)
Bhula | April 1st, 2009 at 4:37 pm
According to this nice lady I talked to @ Fido she seems to think that the only way of getting around the DRM crap is by loading your music through the USB cable only, then and onlt then can you use non DRM music as ring tonnes…
You all know my position on this so when I get a cable which she also said to use a universail LG cable from Best Buy then I’ll let you know.
Questions .. | April 1st, 2009 at 7:05 pm
Hey , umm . Can you hook a COMPUTER USB cord , to it and add videos & pictures onto the computer ? .
Patrick | April 1st, 2009 at 7:45 pm
The DRM Packager from Sony is the right tool for DRMized your mp3.
BUT you need to connect the Usb cable to a computer and send the .dm file in a specific folder… which won’t work because the driver for windows doesn’t work…
Sending the dm file trough bluetooth or on the MicroSd card didn’t work for me yet…
If someone can make the damn Usb connect witht eh windows driver let us know HOW!
Thanks

PS : Bluecat, your driver is only for MAC and I have windows so I’m sorry but i can’t do anything with that, unless you find the same thing for windows

yes you can Johnny, it’s the exact same phone, just not the same firmware (almost the same but some difference from rogers or fido etc.)

Another question for everyone:
Does anyone know if FM radio will work with any headphones, or do I need specialized headphones for it?
Thanks!!
Trang | April 2nd, 2009 at 10:12 am
Yes, the FM radio will work with any headphones that come with LG phones. For me I used LG Chocolate’s headphones on LG Neon. Work well.
to Cedric: for sure! I’m not at home right now so not able to post the driver here. But…yeah, i tried lots of ways to transfer the files. I tried Bimpit, LG PC Suite, LG Phone Manager. But only LG PC Suite can connect the phone to PC, but it only allowed me to sync the SMS, contacts and calendar. I mean, what the heck?. For the rest, this phone is too new for Bimpit. And LG Phone Manager is not a compatibale sync software for this phone so it’s just useless.

I make and compose my own music – therefore I own the copyright
I’ve transfered the song via blue tooth to my phone
However the phone does not give me an option to use the song as a ringtone – merely listen to is as an mp3.
the other ringtones i notice are MP3 format as well.
Is there any way I can use my songs as ringtones???
Can anyone help me with this?

Hi guys, I’ve tried to unlock my TE365 in the internet. Because, the sales people on Vancouver’s stores (Fido and Rogers) told me that they are not unlocking this phone yet. So, I sent the IMEI number for a website and he sent me a code. I entered this code, and the cell was restarted, but just the symbol of TE365 was showed. Then, I went to the store to change the cell. Now, I have a new one, but I’m afraid to try to unlock in the internet again. Does anyone tried to unlock this phone in any Vancouver store? Can you tell me where you have done it?
Thanks a lot,

Hi Hi, I seem to have a pretty annoying problem, I was just toying around with the settings on the phone (got it yesterday) till’ I figured I messed with the wrong setting. Now I can only view my text messages in “Thread view” only – When I have it in the standard, it doesn’t show any of my text messages – I cannot view them in the standard way.

Hey has anyone used http://www.mobilerated.com for downloading free games? Does it work? Could it harm the phone in any way cause its not from fido?
Thanks

I had done a ton of research before i purchased this phone. I came across a few i wanted over this one but were only available in the U.S. I was only interested in a phone with a qwerty keyboard. The i pod i think is one of the coolest phones available if your into gadgets. There’s almost nothing the phone cant do, check it out at a local future shop or where ever they sell it, they usually have them on display so that you can test them. Also look on you tube there’s tons of informational videos that will show you what the phone/phones are capable of. As for qwerty phones,Ii like the htc touch pro the best. These phones have multiple uses, and the plan rates get expensive. I personally just wanted a phone with a keyboard and that’s it nothing fancy for now anyway. The Lg te365 has touch screen for only dialing that’s it, the rest is push button. If your looking for full touch screen capabilities i suggest you look into something else. Also this phone does not support your own mp3′s as ring tones, they must be purchased through the provider, nor does it come with any accessories, such as data cable, head phones, micro sd. These are my opinions, and what Ive found to like by doing my own research. So find out what exactly you want in a cell phone and then start narrowing it down.
Anonymous210 | April 4th, 2009 at 1:09 am
hey I tried downloading ringtones and images… images are working fine but the only problem is when I set the sound to be my ringtone which I downloaded it says only DRM file… what the heck is that??
Trang | April 4th, 2009 at 1:10 pm
sorry guys for being late, this is the LG Update tool.
http://www.mediafire.com/?aynxkmzmzn4
Install setup file, run the program, then go to tab Customer Support, pick Application, Manual and USB Driver Download.
sora | April 4th, 2009 at 1:25 pm
what does the lg neon come with like camera mp3 video camera games is the touch screen for dialing only is the slide kepad cool god or what can you guys tell me
Cedric | April 4th, 2009 at 4:40 pm
Hey Trang is the mediafire.com’s your driver for DRM files? If no, well I still need it for some tests
. If you can’t post the drivers here, well this is what you have to do : get a USB SD card reader, so you can ttransfer data dircectly on your micro SD card. Then, if you want to make your own ring tone, get the driver for converting non-DRM fiels to DRM ones, and then put it on yoiuyr micro SD card. Either way you can link me the drivers (if it’s not the mediafire.com ones) or do it yourself, and then tell me if it works
Thanks.
Trang | April 4th, 2009 at 5:22 pm
Cedric, the link that i posted up above is the tool that you can download drivers for LG Neon, and from that you can connect your phone with your PC using LG PC Suite. It has nothing to do with DRM files. And as i said before, even i’m already able to connect my phone to PC, i still can’t transfer DRM files from PC to the phone. And i also did put DRM file directly to micro SD but the phone said it can’t play that file.
Cole | April 4th, 2009 at 7:21 pm
@ “i blame rogers”
Hey genius, stop and think a second. The phones are not manufactured by Rogers, they are made by their respective companies, and handed to Rogers for sale. LG has specifically stated the device has no software developed for it as of yet, so including a blank cd (since there is no software OR drivers made for it) and a usb cable would be retarded and pointless. Also, since the device does not support connection to a pc, there is no point putting in headphones in the package because YOU CANT GET MUSIC ON IT ANYWAYS. LG has *always* sucked when it comes to phones. In the 5 years I’ve been selling for Rogers you know how many LG phones I’ve seen that weren’t a P.O.S.? One. The LG Vu. that’s it.
Oh and the device is $29.99 based on 3 year term, without the requirement of adding a vision or data package to the account, so if you got told by a rep that you “have to take an extra package” for this phone, you got screwed and should go demand your money back.
aunie | April 4th, 2009 at 10:12 pm
I’m honestly blind but I cannot find the link to the manual…the pdf version or whatever?! Anyone minding to post the pdf link?
Cedric | April 4th, 2009 at 10:56 pm
Thanks Trang. Well if you’re enable to get DRM files read by the phone, then i don’t think there’s a possible way of putting your own ring tunes on the cell phone.
DONTBUYTHISPHONE; | April 5th, 2009 at 1:53 pm
Just to start;
DON’T BUY UNLESS ALL YOU CARE ABOUT IS TEXTING. THATS ALL YOU WILL EVER GET.
I upgraded my old phone to this one for 250 dollars, and there are so many glitches.
To see if its my phone or the whole thing altogether:
Try this everyone, turn on your phone and press the camera button, tell me if it says ‘please wait’ and nothing loads cause it does that for my phone!
I simply hate this all together. My phone doesn’t even read other SD cards, even when theyre in MP3 format. So I gave it back to the store and got another; ( thinking it was broken ) but changing nothing. I don’t even want to bother with the ringtones because its so confusing and hard. Also sending files through bluetooth will fail unless it is much less than 1 MB all i can send and recieve through it are pictures. They could ATLEAST include a headset and USB cable, for a phone thats 250, but NO. they didnt. Now the only way I transfer files is by my 4GB SD card. which my computer did not read until I had some files into it.
Thanks alot LG, and Rogers. youve been such a great help.
NOT.
live_strong | April 5th, 2009 at 2:12 pm
Why would you upgrade to the Neon for $250 when you can buy it contract free for $199.99?
FireGryph | April 5th, 2009 at 3:16 pm
The price tag on the box, from Rogers in Canada, is $328.50. I upgraded from my Razr V3t for $120 with renewal of my contract.
As for the drivers and software provided by Trang, you actually need the USB cable for it to work. Im trying to connect with bluetooth, and it still wont work. the original LG PC Suite doesnt support bluetooth, though PC Suite 2 does, and there are still no drivers for connecting it via bluetooth. No problem at all transferring files TO the phone from PC, but can’t sync, cant get files (like photos) off the phone to my PC, that kind of stuff.
NoName | April 5th, 2009 at 3:49 pm
This phone is a BASIC phone. It’s not a music phone, not a camera phone, not a email push phone. It’s cheap and great for texting. There are some issues as others have stated: can’t use files uploaded by user as ringtones or alarm. I haven’t tried to transfer files from the phone to another device (another phone, computer,..). What you CAN do though, is save the files (pics, songs, videos…) on the memory card (they sell for dirt cheap nowadays) and then transfer them on your computer via a micro sd card which is usually provided with the micro sd itself.
Again, if you’re looking for a phone to listen to music, to take plenty of pictures that are going to be crappy anyways, to browse the web, etc. DON’T buy this phone. If, on the other hand, you’re wanting a cheap, qwerty-keyboard, texting phone, then buy it. If you’re one of the people that use ‘normal’ ringtones instead of annoying songs, then this phone is for you. Simple as that. I’ve had this phone for a few days and have had 0 problem with it YET.
As for the DRM files issue, the general consensus is either unlocking it, or maybe wait for LG to come up with a fireware update that allows you to do so. This is my first LG phone, so I can’t say if this is the first time this happens. I have a friend who has a locked LG Shine and he uses a song as a ringtone.
NoName | April 5th, 2009 at 3:50 pm
i meant *via a micro sd card reader
NoName | April 5th, 2009 at 4:08 pm
To DONTBUYTHISPHONE;
I haven’t had the problem with the camera button thing and I think the phone couldn’t read your sd cards because you must format it beforehand. Read Cole’s post in regards to the exclusion of the headphones and USB cable.
To all consumers, go to your local Rogers/Fido/Bell/Telus or whatever provider and TRY the phone before buying it. Informing yourself is the best way of avoiding a ”bad” purchase.
DONTBUYTHISPHONE; | April 5th, 2009 at 4:29 pm
@ NoName
Thanks, for the information, because it might just be my cellphone.
& I’m not too sure about the format, because it worked on my friend’s LG shine and I was wondering why it didnt work on mine. I feel like the glitches grow after longer use. And for the referral to Cole’s post, the headphones are not only used for music, but for the FM radio, which is said to have an ” antenna “
DONTBUYTHISPHONE; | April 5th, 2009 at 4:33 pm
@ Live_strong
That offer ($199) only applies online, when I went to the Rogers Wireless store they had said it was 250.
Brellie | April 5th, 2009 at 4:41 pm
Hello Jessica Santos, I have the same problem with my phone since I unlocked it to use on Fido network. What did you do, or where did you go to get this fixed. Pls. any help would be appreciated.
live_strong | April 5th, 2009 at 4:52 pm
Both Best Buy and Future Shop sell the Neon for $199.99 (no contract).
Brellie | April 5th, 2009 at 4:56 pm
Hello Live_strong, I bought this phone from Rogers and I got it unlocked for my girlfriend since she’s with Fido. When the guy from the cellphone store put in the unlock code, it said it was unlocked, and then it restarted. for some reason, after it restarted, it just shows up the screen and it it says TE365. It never loads. I took out the batteries and waited for it to load a couple of times but for some reason it’s still not working. I called Rogers, they said to call Fido, I called Fido, they said to call LG, I called LG they basically denied to help. I don’t know what to do?
Johnny | April 5th, 2009 at 5:21 pm
Paid $150 for mine brand new in Canada. No problems with phone so far. Except my phone number kinda sux, and fido charges $25 to change it!!
SAM | April 5th, 2009 at 6:25 pm
Are there any themes for this phone the screen with the folders is so boring no colours and i wanna know if i can change it?
pls help thanx!
mdot | April 5th, 2009 at 7:29 pm
@Brellie
Unlocking the phone violates the warranty. Unless you can fix the problem yourself, Fido/Rogers/LG won’t replace or fix it. You should’ve waited a bit since Fido now has it.
Aimee | April 5th, 2009 at 8:37 pm
Hey all,
Has anyone successfully been able to get their FM radio to work yet? I comprehend that it doesn’t come with headphones. But with other LG headphones such as the accessories for the Chocolate etc, etc. I’ve swiped a pair of my mom, from her LG from last year, but the input and output don’t sync up.
If you have, would you be able to let us know where you purchased your headphones from and what kind they were?
I hope we’ve not all throughly torn our hair out over this phone yet.
My latest disappointment was the realization that there was no speakerphone setting. Oh well.
cheers.
bluecat | April 5th, 2009 at 11:05 pm
Aimee,
I’m also trying to figure out what headphones to use for the FM radio function too. Hopefully someone will figure that out!
As for the speakerphone setting, when you are on the line with someone, there should be a little speaker symbol… press the “ok” button on your cell, and it should work.
Trang | April 6th, 2009 at 10:34 am
I’m using LG Chocolate’s headphones, and it works for FM Radio!. I got it from my aunt cuz she barely uses it =P.
I think the best way to solve all the problems of this phone is waiting. It just comes out, too new for people to hack it.
and my phone has a very annoying issue that i just find out. The time appears on received SMS always 1 hour earlier than the current time. For example: now is 9:00AM, someone texts me at this time but the time appears on the msg is 10AM. Is there anyone here having the same problem ?
Johnny | April 6th, 2009 at 11:16 am
Fix the time setting in settings date&time, set time. Also go to tools, world clock and set your area on on the globe.
SuperGirl | April 6th, 2009 at 3:55 pm
Hi I have just bought an lg neon from fido and i have no idea what website to go to to get the code to unlock it does anyone know what site or where i can get the code please i really need your help! Thanks a Bunch
Patrick | April 6th, 2009 at 4:32 pm
you have to google : lg neon unlock code
But this will ONLY give you the oppotunity to go freely to another telephone compagnie to use their network. So if you just signed for 2 years with fido it’s pretty useless to do that, it won’t give any new feature to the phone…
Ron | April 6th, 2009 at 4:42 pm
Phone is great so far….only agravating thing is lack of USB cable and headphones.
SuperGirl | April 6th, 2009 at 4:42 pm
I am not signed with fido I am with rogers and I am not having any luck in finding the code on google I also contacted some phone stores and said that no one can unlock this phone should i just return it?
Trang | April 6th, 2009 at 5:27 pm
to Johny: yes, i set the date time correctly and it appears correctly on the main screen, it’s just wrong in the messages that my friends text me !
Trang | April 6th, 2009 at 5:32 pm
also, i tried to text msg to myself too, but the time just went wrong, it’s always 1 hour after the current time!.

I really do like this phone but its just difficult to find a few things. Like others have said .. itsa awesome phone for texting.
Trang | April 7th, 2009 at 3:42 pm
Shelby, what kind of SD card do you use? and where did you view your music that you transfered from PC on your phone?
Chris T | April 8th, 2009 at 7:31 pm
Guys if ANYONE IS PLANNING TO BUY THIS PHONE BUT IS NOT A ROGERS CUSTOMER……DON’T
I bought the phone locked but I was lucky enoght and found a way to unlock it I’m with Fido and this was a Rogers phone
However,I called LG and they said we will be able to unlock them in Sept. 2009 it’s too new.
Now my firends bought the phone through Rogers LOCKED and no returns and they have to wait till Sept. BECAREFUL OUT THERE
Diesel63 | April 9th, 2009 at 9:16 am
Everyone one is talking the lack of headphones and data cables. I found some at the first place I tried. I went to a mall with a both that sells cell phone accessories and bought some. Head phones work fine haven’t tried data cable.
Lexi | April 10th, 2009 at 7:41 pm
@ trang: I know your comment is not towards me but; to view your music transfer songs/tunes from your pc to the SD card in the SOUND file. it will not work otherwise.

Un$ignedHype | April 13th, 2009 at 7:18 pm
I doubt he unlocked it. It totally bricks the phone.
joseph | April 14th, 2009 at 12:10 pm
to transfer things from your computer to your phone without the usb just go to tigerdirect buy a micro sd 2gb for 10$ and put the card in ur comp put all the info you want into it then just pop the micro sd into your phone and viola
CellBaby | April 14th, 2009 at 7:01 pm
Yeah. There’s no way to unlock the LG Neon just yet. One store that has unlocked all my last 4 phones said that it’s too new and it bricks the phone. We will have to wait. So for “Chris T”, I don’t think there is way.
CdnGMan | April 15th, 2009 at 4:30 pm

josh5674 | April 15th, 2009 at 5:01 pm
I’m enjoying the phone so far, my only problem is this. I dial a number on the touch pad, then when it rings and answers the touchpad disappears, but sometimes I need to enter an extension or press a button to get further into a menu, then I have to slide it open and press the little buttons. Is there anyway to keep the touchpad numbers?
Lilly | April 15th, 2009 at 7:18 pm
Can someone help me.
Sometimes when i receive a a text message, i see a blinking message icon. what does this mean??
Sid | April 15th, 2009 at 8:20 pm
I just got the phone from rogers and then spent another 30$ at a kiosk in pacific mall to get the unlock code. But now after i entered the unlock code, it asked me to restart.
Thats good as it said that both network and service locks were disengaged, BUT
now the phone is stuck with the startup logo. its is working with other sims and reciving and dialing numbers, but it is only displaying the TE365 logo on the screen!
Anyone knows how to fix it??
Anonymous | April 15th, 2009 at 11:55 pm

Just wondering if anyone else notices the same thing ==> I keep getting complaints that outgoing volume is low.
I tried it on my voicemail, and I think it is pretty low, but not enough for me to think its defective, wondering if anyone else has the same issue?
Holly | April 20th, 2009 at 9:58 am
just got the LG TE365 and its works fine , but a major problem with you dial a number and you need to put the extension number in,it wont let you, and keypad disappears so that i can’t check my voice mail, etc. how am i able to check it?
Holly | April 20th, 2009 at 10:02 am
and one more question…..does the phone come with an actual manual(book) do you just have to go to their website?
CdnGMan | April 20th, 2009 at 10:18 am
Hey all… what application / software are you using to manage your files / save your contacts via your computer??
josh5674 | April 20th, 2009 at 3:34 pm
@ Holly
I asked the same question about the keypad disappearing, I can’t seem to find anyway to keep the keyboard on screen, you have to slide it open and enter extensions on the keypad there after you dial the number and it’s answered. Pretty annoying. The phone doesn’t come with a manual, you need to go to the LG website and download it there.
SuperGirl | April 20th, 2009 at 5:09 pm
will the lg neon code ever come out if I bought it from fido?
August Wilder | April 24th, 2009 at 11:22 am
how do i put this phone into silent without going into the settings. i just got it and i tryed to use the volume controll on the side but all that does it turn the ringer down and it still rings? can sombody help me?
Trang | April 24th, 2009 at 1:13 pm
just hold down for few seconds the button # on keyboard then your phone will go silent.
To turn off the sound of pressing buttons, go to Setting –> Profile. From there you will know what to do.
I used the phone for 1 month and finally decided to sell it. Can’t stand some unsolved annoying things on the phone. I bought the P1i Sony Ericsson on ebay. It rocks!. Always go for SE!
Johnny | April 24th, 2009 at 11:21 pm
I dont have any of these problems everyone is talking about and I got it when it first came to fido. As for the dial screen disappearing, press the dial button again and it will come back, it works for me. Press it again and it disappears. The only thing I find annoying is if I leave that dial screen on and touch the phone to my cheek it presses a freaking number, so i just press the dial button again to make it disappear
NChan | April 25th, 2009 at 3:22 pm

It really depends on what spec. you are looking for. If you are a user that like to txt or email alot, this is the right phone for you. If you like high-end gadgets, then this phone might not be the best choice.

Tasha | April 28th, 2009 at 4:29 pm
I just got my Neon yesterday, and was pretty pissed when I learned about the DRM only ringtones. But…..someone earlier on in this thread mentioned http://www.ventones.com and that they used ringtones from there. It works! You can’t put them on your computer and transfer them with bluetooth, and I couldn’t figure out how to make it work when they sent it in a text, but downloading direct to your phone works!! It’s super easy to make the ringtones (especially when you start with an mp3 ringtone). Just make sure you click the box that indicates you are on Rogers or Fido.

I bought a USB cable for the TE365 (LG Neon) but havn’t a clue now what to do to download MP3′s. There is no driver or software that i can find. Any help would be appreciated.
Britanie | May 7th, 2009 at 9:24 am
Okay. Hi. umm today i want to go buy my sell a LG Neon TE365 . or how ever you guys say that. but is it worth it?
Chester | May 8th, 2009 at 3:37 pm
Ok guys. I got the Samsung Gravity t456, and I think this would be a much better choice than the te365. It’s almost exactly the same; slideout keyboard, looks… only difference is that the neon has a touch screen. And from what I heard, who gives a crap about that cause all you can do with that is dial numbers. You still can’t set mp3′s to ringtones but that’s fine . All in all, since I got the gravity, it’s great.

PurpleCRAYONS | May 9th, 2009 at 10:31 pm
does ventones work??
Chris P. | May 10th, 2009 at 2:19 am
Ventones does not work. At least it did not work for me.
I tried:
1. texting the file to my phone – nada
2. Downloading it directly into the phone via internet – nada
3. downloading it to the PC then transfer it via SD – nada
4. Downloading it to another phone then bluetoothing it.
Same comment “DRM file available”.
I am at a loss
Caroline | May 11th, 2009 at 12:14 am
So, i used that ventones thing, and it worked!! I just had to go on the browser to get the file.. which I wasn’t too thrilled about, because that costs some money…
As for the phone, I quite enjoy it. I used the memory card I had for my Samsung phone with Bell, and it works beautifully – have a picture of my dog on my background
I think the picture quality is awesome and beautiful… granted, I’m not techno wiz so many things amuse me.
I got my phone on Friday from Rogers at a cell phone booth at a Costco. After battling with Bell, I finally had enough and switched. The lady was REALLY nice, and gave me headphones, a car charger, and a leather belt clip case.. so I have no complaints.
Fiona | May 11th, 2009 at 12:51 am
Wow, which Costco did you get it from?
I’ve been thinking of getting a new phone, this may be the one.
Caroline | May 11th, 2009 at 1:30 am
i got it at the Costco in Markham, north of Toronto.. Woodbine and 7 area

Caroline | May 11th, 2009 at 2:51 pm
yesss you can have it ring nd vibrate, vibrate then ring, or just vibrate. or just ring. haha
Trang | May 11th, 2009 at 5:28 pm
(long time not been here)
Okay guys, let me make it clear. Ringtones on ventones.com only works when you use internet mobile to directly download it on your phone. It NEVER works if you download the file from that website to your computer then transfer it to your phone, it will again prompt you the msg “The file is not DRM”. So basically, if you use ventones.com to download ringtones, it works but it wiill cost you money because even though the ringtone is free, but data you download using the internet on your phone will be CHARGED. I did it already. Just download 1 ringtone that I cut from my music file on ventones.com and it costs me like 8-9 bucks on the monthly bill.

Also, an advice to those who wants this phone. If you really really wants this phone because it looks nice (yes it does!), you also want this phone to perform all functions normally as you desire (like set your own ringtone, theme…), and some basic accessories like headset, USB cable; i suggest you to buy a new unlocked phone which is not to be bounded by any network. Then you will get no more problem with it :d.
PurpleCRAYONS | May 12th, 2009 at 7:10 pm
This IS actually a good phone
I got it for 30$
It’s 30$ for a reason though, it’s falling apart easily. It feels kinda cheap in your hands.
Overall if you want a phone to just text on, get this.
Dont expect it to be as high end as a Blackberry though.
This phone is worth the 30$.
(ps good idea to bookmark this site, it’s the only one i can find that has people discussing this phone regularly)
jecca | May 13th, 2009 at 8:23 am
i have this phone really like it although turning on and off the touch screen is a necessity it you are trying to hear without accidentally dialing
to get info on and off the phone i use a memory card with a usb adapter $20 (also came with adapters so i can use the card in my ipod and digital camera) way cheaper then buying the $60 usb cable that isnt even availiiable yet.
the biggest problem is that the radio wont work without the headset and having an mp3 option is useless if i have no headphone (i dont want to be that obnoxious person who listens to music on the subway with out headphones)
going to australlia and want to unlock so i can use a local SIM anyone know if i can get it unlocked without compromising the phone?

i love my phone it is great i just want to know you know how the phone has a voice recoreder i recored music does anyone know how to make it into a ringtone or text message please let me know
Samantha | May 14th, 2009 at 2:52 pm
I love my phone, I don’t get why everyone is complaining about not having the USB cable or the headphones, all that was mailed out to me by UPS when I ordered it from Rogers after persisting nagging my father. The only thing I wish I had thought about was keeping my headset from my Sony Ericsson because it’s got tat clipy thingy where I could secure my headphones and microphone on my clothes. But no I was stupid enough to give away my old phone with the headset and the clip so now I’m complaining about that. I think all phones what have earphones and microphones should come with that clipy thing.
TDubb | May 15th, 2009 at 10:52 pm
Im with Rogers and tried the ventones website and still get the DRM warning. It was never texted to me so i went on the browser and to the link ventones gives, download the file but still nothing… I am at a loss as to why it wont work.
A side note about something unrelated but how does one put contacts into specific groups like they have in the phone? ive tried looking all over the place but nowhere does it allow me to put my contacts into these groups…….
vikki | May 16th, 2009 at 12:21 pm
Hi All, have had the phone about a week now and put some mp3s and pics on the card, the pics work fine but I can’t find or play the songs. Can someone please tell me how to load and play my mp3s? I like the phone but must say that it was easier to put the songs on the sony errickson w580i then this one
Ken | May 19th, 2009 at 1:40 am
I also had the same problem as Tdubb except I am with fido, when you set up your account it asks what type of phone you have and the neon isn’t listed, could that be the problem?
jess | May 21st, 2009 at 9:42 pm
I own this cell and to be honest,
it really annoys the shit out of me.
all it ever does is fail on me usually when i send a text message.
and ive never dropped it once,
im going back to fido because it was failing a bit and sending successful but like in the last hour ive gone in different areas and it failed through every text message i tried sending.
i hate it, and i want my old samsung jack back.

Hi Trang: I while ago you said you were able to use PC Suite to connect to the TE365 and get access to contacts etc. I have used the mediafire link you kindly provided and run the Support Tool program. Under the customer support tab, the only option that helps is the upgrade option which then presents a pick box for usb drivers. Which drvier did you pick? There isn’t one showing for the TE365 that I can see.
frustrated witht he stupidity | May 22nd, 2009 at 3:48 am
i got the phone today i really like it(mine did come with a headset and charger, no usb or memory card though)… however the only problems i am having with it is that i cannot make my own ringtones and the ones provided are not very appealing to me… even though i have music on my phone (mp3s and AMRs sent via bluetooth from my old phone) i cannot set them as my ringer which kinda sucks cause i doubt they will sell my ringtones in the stores (any help is appreciated)… ANYWAYS MY BIGGEST ISSUE right now!!!!! IS… i ended up saving a number with the wrong area code and sending a few texts to it… and when i realized and fixed my error by saving the real number in my phone, for whatever reason it still saves the messages sent to the wrong number under my real contacts name and keeps sending the texts to the wrong number even though i have it saved properly .. so now i have to type in my boyfriend’s number everytime i want to text and call him .. i am finding this kind of frustrating does anybody know how to fix it before i have to call rogers???
