Bell to Acquire The Source

March 2nd, 2009

With the economy declining at a rapid pace and taking many major companies along with it-Bell has announced today it plans to acquire all 765 Source locations in Canada.

“The Source is a respected leader in consumer electronics retailing right
across Canada. Its acquisition supports Bell’s strategic imperatives to
accelerate wireless and leverage momentum in wireline services like Bell TV,
Bell Internet and Bell Home Phone,” said George Cope, President and CEO of
Bell and BCE.

Although Bell plans to operate The Source as a completely separate company they do plan to sell all Bell services.  These include Bell Mobility, Solo Mobile, Bell TV, Bell High Speed Internet, Bell Home Phone, and possibly Virgin Mobile by January 2010.
