iPhone Catches Fire

March 4th, 2009

“Yesterday I connected my iPhone 3G to my computer’s USB port and left it to charge. Three hours later it caught fire.”

Tim Colbourne was charging his iPhone 3G from O2 when it started on fire after three hours.  His blog entry says that the fire started between the charger and the phone resulting in a few pins being melted together.  Surprising enough the iPhone still worked in perfect condition but would not charge or transfer data.  After a bit a research Tim found that another iPhone was reported to have caught on fire and was replaced free of charge by Apple.

With only two reported cases are you concerned about your iPhone catching on fire?  Leave your response in the comment section below.
