Sony Ericsson c905 and w705 launching on Rogers

May 28th, 2009

Both phones feature HSDPA 7.2 chipsets (good for tethering) plus WiFi (no UMA though) and a Memory stick M2 slot (no Micro SDHC support)

The c905 has a 8.1 megapixel autofocus camera with Xenon bulb flash plus face and smile detection. Pictures can be Geotagged.

Price is $249.99 on a 3 yr.

The w705 is a walkman phone that SE’s walkman music player along side the Rogers music app (I’d debrand it immediately unless you use the Rogers music store).

It has a really nifty Facebook app. I tried it a while back, basically you can see your Facebook contacts profile pictures form the standby screen. They’re arranged in order of who updated their status last. It also allows you to take a video and upload straight to youtube afterwards. No computer or special programs needed.

Finally the w705 is supposed to have better sounding audio. I’m not sure if this means a) a better headphone amp, b) better packaged headphones, c) better sound processing, d) all of the above, e) none of the above.

Price is $149.99 on a 3 yr.
