Verizon Drops Price on BlackBerry Storm

Verizon Wireless has dropped the price on the BlackBerry Storm to $99.99 after rebate on a 2 year term.  Pricing for the Storm on a 1 year or month to month term is $169.99 (after rebate) and $499.99 respectively.

New Verizon Devices

Phone Arena News is reporting ten low to mid range devices and four PTT handsets will be launching on the Verizon network by the end of the year.

  • LG Chocolate Touch VX8575 4th generation Chocolate phone, full touchscreen
  • BlackBerry Storm 2 9550 expected to launch October/November
  • Nokia Shade 2705 to replace the Mirage 2605
  • Nokia Twist 7705 possible swivel-style phone
  • Palm Treo 800W finally making its way to Verizon after launching on Sprint last year
  • Motorola Entice/Harmony W766 to replace the W755
  • Samsung Rogue U960 to replace Glyde U940 and launch August
  • Samsung u450 will feature Verizon Mobile TV service
  • Samsung Strut U440 compact QWERTY keyboard
  • Samsung Omnia II i920 to launch in time for the festive season
  • Motorola V860 PTT device
  • Samsung Convoy U640 PTT device

Virgin Mobile to Launch Samung Link

It looks like the Samsung Link will not only be launching on Bell Mobility but also with its newly acquired brand, Virgin Mobile Canada.  The Samsung Link was spotted on the BestBuy website by HowardForums member “gordon1111″.


No word on a launch date or pricing for the other contract terms, image reveals 3 year pricing is $29.99.  Stay tuned to details when the Samsung Link launches.

New Fido ECF Policy

Fido, a division of Rogers Wireless, is making the following changes to their Early Cancellation Fees (ECF).

NEW: $10/month ($100 minimum, $300 maximum)
OLD: $20/month ($100 minimum, $400 maximum)

NEW: $10/month ($100 minimum, $200 maximum)
OLD: $5/month ($25 minimum, $100 maximum)

The above changes will only apply to customers who sign a Fido agreement on or after July19,  2009.  No word on if existing customers will have their contract terms changed to reflect the new policy.
