Hahahaha @ Dave Mobile. I hate those morons without imagination. They even can not come up with some decent catchy name. "Dave Mobile"... sounds exactly like "Rogers wireless"...another bunch of thieves! Why not go all the way "Davey"?!! Include your fucking last name in between Dave and Mobile, that's gonna sound real douche!

Bell Launches HSPA Network Nov 4, 2009. Telus Launches HSPA Network Nov 5, 2009.

HSPA SIM Card phones will be available to them as well as new carriers.

Dave Mobile and another one too. Can't remember exactly their names, but they will be entering the wireless market next year.

I rarely post as well, but I have to correct the information from Shatta.

I certainly don't like Rogers as a company, but they have already had HPSA for some time running at the highest speed currently available in the world. (source: http://hspa.gsmworld.com/networks/) while Bell and Telus are shown as 'deployment pending'

I've never seen shit idiots comment in my entire life. I rarely comment, but in this case I have do.

People, please do research on what HSPA IS first. It is NOT GSM. Telus' new network will not support GSM devices, except for maybe a portion of B.C. for Olympic revenue. HSPA is an evolution of GSM, thus the SIM card and the easy swap from phone to phone for customers such as you and I.

Telus & Bell are going to be the only 2 true national carriers with the best coverage & reception, even those with populations of 10,000 & under (which is a ton in our country). In the cities who actually gets shitty reception all over the place?!?

Telus' CDMA will phase out over the next 5-10 years, as did analog service in 2008 (when last did you have an analog cell?!?). All the latest & greatest units will most likely be on HSPA, however them and Bell will probably still sell some CDMA phones for some time.

HSPA will be replaced within the next few years with LTE, which will probably not require us to change SIM cards, but who knows what 5G holds...

People, are call quality has been amazing with 2G (digital), it can't get much better.

3G and up is simply for data speeds, the future of mobility

On that note, remember CDMA's EVDO evolution was the first true 3G network introduced by Bell in 2005-2006, Roger's first big hit 3G unit was the RIM Bold in 2008, follwed by the iPhone 3G. EDGE technology can be considered 2.5G at its best

Telus has seriously fallen behind, back only a few years Clearnet and then Telus used to have the latest, greatest handsets. They are falling behind big time and there is nothing upcoming as far as the public knows. They don't tell anybody anything. HSPA, sure but when? What devices? They lost the exclusive to Bell on the Pre and are getting killed by the iPhone. The Storm doesn't cut it. If I didn't have 24 months left in my contract I'd leave Telus. As soon as that number drops to around 10 months I don't mind paying the cancellation fee to get out if nothing interesting happens.

Why would they go gsm and then go back to cdma, that makes no sense. Sim cards cannot go into cdma devices, Putting the sim card in any gsm phone will not work, the phone needs to have the north american 3g band.
