Hmmm, I wonder how many of these people posting who are critizising your review work for LG.....

Anyways, here is my impression of the phone after owning it for 5 days: It sucks, and it is going back to Rogers.

Touchscreen is a god-awful mess, hardly works when you want it to. Has a dead spot on the right side of the screen, running all the way up and down. Awesome. Freezing occurs to no end, slow performance, crappy quality over all.

Customer service is non-existant. LG says to send it to Rogers and will not accept the phone from me under any circumstances dispite 2 phone calls with 2 separate people, and Rogers says I can either send it in to LG or Rogers for repairs. Under the circumstances, Rogers actually looks good on that one.

My advise: don't buy this phone. Wait for LG's 3 or possibly 4th attempt at it, they might get it right by then. For now, stick to HTC's and iPhones.

P.S.: I'm not a complainer, really. I have had phones for years and years, and never had any problems. I think this is the firsst time i've actually been frustrated with a phone. To those who enjoy the phone, all the best to you, and I hope you stay happy. To everyone else, that's my 2 cents.

I really wan a new phone and I have Rogers. So I was debating between the htc magic and this phone the lg eve. I can't decide cause people keep saying there's many problems to the eve but I really like the qwerty slide out keyboard. I also considered the htc dream but almost everyone says the htc magic is way better then the dream. So please help... Htc magic or lg eve???

I just picked up the Eve about a week ago. I did run into the locking up / black screen issues, but LG has a patch. Since then, I've had no problems with the phone at all. True, the touch pad can be a little annoying, but it's a matter of getting used to it. I don't take video, so that part doesn't affect me. Keyboard is nice, better than the HTC Dream (imo), and I'm liking Android over WinMo 6.1. Overall, I'm quite partial to the phone, and at 50 bucks (with contract) I'd have to say it's a more than decent phone.

Love it, just love it!
For starters if you are having issues with the space bar not working properly do the following:
""The “LG IME” predictive text helper / software keyboard is horrible. Really, really, horrible. Turn it off as soon as you can. For the longest time I thought the space bar was broken because of the way the IME uses the first space to select the word, and the 2nd to actually insert a space. Sad, and on a full keyboard it’s completely pointless. But, it’s easy to turn off, and once it’s off the keyboard behaves the way a keyboard should."" Menu >settings >Locale & text > LG IME (uncheck- problem fixed).
I have had the phone for 2 weeks, so far love it, loved it even more once I turned off the IME. Battery life is good/great for how much I have it on ( I use baby timer app for 2 kids all day, with wifi on) I charge it about every 4 days, and I never wait for the screen to auto sleep, I just simply push the power button to put it to sleep right away. Battery depends on how many apps you are running in background, if you are not using them constantly turn them off to save battery.
Bonus :shortcuts on screen for "speed dialling" i.e.: home, mom, (menu >add >shortcut >contacts)
you can also do this for playlists.
fits in pocket nice
there are also great apps /widgets for easy and fast one touch on/off of wifi and bluetooth right on your "desktop", both features work great.
5 mp camera is good has great flash, immediate editing.
If you are new to smartphones keep the manual nearby for the first week.
Bad:
-like everyone says the home and back buttons are EXTREMELY sensitive I wish there was an option to choose sensitivity I have adapted to how I hold the phone since to minimize the problem ( at least it saves where you were at if you accidently exit)
-wish it came with a car usb charger adaptor
-can seem a little slow depending on what apps you have and are running
-wish it had home and end keys since it has page up and down.
- I have only had it freeze twice while on the phone with wireless provider or from a bad app (removed the app- no problems since)
Overall:
Great phone, especially for 50$ (as long as you print out and mail away your rebate form)
Great keyboard 5 lines, buttons are not too small like blackberry even my spouse can type on it.
Love it, just love it!
