It’s Official: BlackBerry 8530 Coming to Koodo

Telus’ discount brand, Koodo Mobile will be launching the BlackBerry 8530 “later this spring”.

The BlackBerry Curve 8530 smartphone comes in charcoal and is expected to retail for $300, or $150 for new customers who put the smartphone on their Tab. Existing customers who have paid their Tab in part or in full can also use the Tab to get the new BlackBerry Curve 8530 smartphone.

The Samsung Intensity has officially been launched on Telus’ discount brand-Koodo Mobile. The full QWERTY device retails for $200, or $50 when you max out the Tab.

With a 1.3MP camera, MP3 player, microSD slot (supporting up to 16 GB), and Bluetooth this device has great features and a excellent price tag.

Koodo Mobile Shipping Masterpiece and VE440

As we told you last week, Koodo Mobile will be releasing three new CDMA devices in the coming weeks. Looks like the LG Masterpiece and Motorola VE440 will launch on October 26th, according to our Koodo insider. Both devices were shipped out to retail locations Monday, October 19th-so they should arrive in time for the 26th launch date.

As stated in the previous post, each devices will set you back $125 or $0 with a 125 Tab. More information and specs will be published once the devices are officially launched.

It will be interesting to see if Koodo Mobile will be staying with CDMA or moving onto the newly created HSPA network.

Koodo Mobile to Launch Motorola Rival

Our Koodo Ninja has informed us that the Motorola Rival will be launching in the coming weeks. The internal document reveals the Rival will be launching at retail locations on either August 17th or 24th.

Pricing for Koodo’s newest QWERTY keyboard was not detailed in the memo. Parent company, Telus, did launch the Rival a last week for $299.99 no term; so expect Koodo’s to retail around $200 or $50 on the Tab.

Koodo Mobile Launching SIM Cards Tomorrow?

HowardForums member “insane_guitar” is reporting that Koodo Mobile will be launching SIM cards next week. The SIM cards are rumored retail for $25 and launch as early as tomorrow-July 26th. No official announcement has been made by Koodo or the company website a currently offline for system upgrades.

Although “insane_guitar” has been reliable in the past with Koodo leaks, the sources I have spoken with say this is a “myth” and that Koodo will not be launching SIM cards in the immediate future. I guess time will tell.
