I meant to write about this when the price drops first occurred on July 1st but I was busy setting up a new feature for the site, more on this in the coming days. As you can see from the image about the HTC Magic and HTC Dream, which were released on Rogers Wireless at the beginning of June have been slashed $50 down in price. Both devices are now only $99.99 on a 3 year term with a voice and data plan totaling $45/month. If you purchased either phone from Rogers directly you should be able to get the $50 credited back to your account assuming you are within the 15 day price adjustment window.

Today Rogers is launching the Android powered HTC Dream and Magic. I had a chance to play with both of them and was very impressed. Not just because it’s something new to try but because they seem to work well.
Both will cost $149.99 on a 3 year if you have a plan with a minimum monthly fee of $45. Rogers is also bringing back the $30/6GB plans for these devices until July 1st 2009.
Here’s the goods:
- Full suite of Google applications including Google search, Gmail, Google Talk, Google Apps and YouTube
- Android Market (an app store)
- Quad band GSM/EDGE 850/900/1800/1900Mhz
- Dual band HSDPA 850/1900Mhz, 7.2Mbps
- 3.2″ 320×480 LCD with capacitive touch screen (no stylus needed)
- Gmail and Exchange support both with push
- IMAP and POP3 email support
- 3.2MP camera

- Both use a mini USB connector located at the bottom for charging and headphones. There is no 3.5mm headphone jack

The Dream has a slick pop out keyboard, 1150mAh battery and 256MB RAM with a Qualcomm MSM 7200 528Mhz processor.

The Magic has no physical keyboard, is a bit thinner and noticeably lighter 1340mAh, 288MB RAM with a Qualcomm MSM 7201 528Mhz processor. Please excuse the picture, the table had a bright red table cloth on it.
