We first saw the Virgin Mobile’s X-tc in February and today it is up for sale. The X-tc is has a full slide out qwerty keyboard, Bluetooth and a 1.3 MP camera. As we though the X-tc is retailing for $99.99 (prepaid).

Research in Motion has finally released the long awaitedBlackberry AppWorldto go head to head with Apple’s App Store. Details about Blackberry App World are as follows quoted from RIM’s website:

To Find this application to add to your blackberry device you will need to go to the mobile blackberry homepage which is found at http://mobile.blackberry.com. Click on The blackberry App world link and download it to your smartphone. The Total File Size is 523 KB.
I personally just downloaded it and its a sick little application. After a few days of usage I’ll do a full review on it and post back my findings. One thing I have noticed is you will need a active PayPal account to pay for any applications you wish to purchase.
But the big question is can it combat the App Store on iTunes? We’ll have to wait see.

Virgin Mobile USA is getting ready to launch a very basic bar phone-the Kyocera JAX. No pricing is available on the Virgin Mobile website but BestBuy is currently selling the JAX for $9.99.

Research in Motion has announced its own application store-BlackBerry App World. The app store will feature tons of “great applications designed for you BlackBerry smartphone in one convenient place”. App World will feature personal productivity applications, games, and social networking applications to name a few.
BlackBerry App World requires you BlackBerry is running operating system 4.2 or higher and must have either a trackball or SurePress screen. A PayPal account is required to download applications-does this mean no free ones like the Apple App store?
