Sony Ericsson has announced their latest edition to the P-Series smartphones. The Sony Ericsson P1 is the 5th generation and most powerful device yet. The P1 is 25% smaller than the current P990 and comes feature packed with a 3.2 megapixel camera with autofocus, business card scanner, media player, Bluetooth 2.0, Micro Memory Stick slot and Wi-Fi. The only downside to the P1 is its Triband GSM/UMTS 2100 radio (The device lacks 850MHz GSM).
“In one sense the Sony Ericsson P1 is an evolution of our P-series smartphones, as it pushes forward the best attributes of its predecessors,” says Steve Walker, Head of Product Marketing at Sony Ericsson. “At the same time there are also significant improvements in design, speed and battery performance.”

It seems that Rogers Wireless here in Canada has sneaked out the BlackBerry Pearl in Red this week. With all the excitement of the new Curve we think RIM forgot to announce this one for Canada. The Red Pearl is available now from Rogers for only $249 with three year contract.

RIM has announced their latest in multimedia BlackBerry devices. The BlackBerry Curve is the latest consumer designed device to be side-by-side with the BlackBerry Pearl. The Curve brings tons of new features including an upgraded 2 megapixel camera with flash, microSD memory card slot with support for up to 4GB, 3.5mm headphone jack and a new ROXIO media player.

Motorola Asia has launched the Motorola KRZR K1 in Gold. The Gold KRZR keeps all the same specs on the K1 such as Quadband GSM, EDGE, 2 megapixel camera, microSD memory card slot and music player. All we know is that it has been released in Taiwan and Singapore. No word on if it will ever come into the North American markets at this time.

RIM has officially announced the BlackBerry 8830 World Edition. The BlackBerry 8830 is RIM’s first device to incorporate both CDMA and GSM for global roaming. The Blackberry 8830 still brings the thin design of the 8800 (.55 inches) along with the multimedia features such as microSD memory card slot, four-way trackball navigation, GPS, Bluetooth 2.0, media player and a large QVGA display.
Both Verizon and Sprint have announced they will be launching it in the United States, along with Bell Mobility in Canada. You can watch for the 8830 to launch on Verizon mid-May. Both Sprint and Bell have announced summer time launches (around July).

Nokia has announced the all new 6120, a 3G packed smartphone. At only 15mm thin the Nokia 6120 offers Symbian series 60 OS, Quadband GSM, Dualband HSDPA (850/2100MHz), 2 megapixel camera and a VGA calling camera.
